Federal Minister for Energy “Power Division” Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari and Chief Minister Punjab Ms. Maryam Nawaz had a conversation through video link. Cooperation was discussed between the federal and Punjab governments to end electricity theft. Agreed to speed up the campaign to prevent electricity theft and improve collections across the province. The two leaders agreed to form a district task force comprising magistrates, police officers, intelligence officers and prosecution experts. The task force will be tasked with taking decisive steps to tackle the growing problem of power theft. Officers with high performance in the anti-electricity campaign will be awarded prizes. 

Agreed to take further steps to ensure proper action against those involved in power theft. For which the legal framework will be further strengthened.
